connection to her partner and best friend, Bill There is a mention of what Paige looks like, but I blocked it out because I couldn t take oneutterance of how freaking great she is There is no depth to Paige, her partner, her daughter, her ex, other agents Shockingly the only person we get some insight into is the serial killer And the entire premise of Paige...This one gets an extra star solely because the writer seems to like serial killers Criminal Minds as much as I do Also Silence of the Lambs Okay premise, pretty bad execution For a clever woman, Riley was kind of an idiot sometimes A word of advice, writers Please don t try too hard to make the reader like the MC That effort is definitely going to backfire P.S I ve seen so much of said T.V show, and read so much about serial killer...3.5 4 stars Loved the cliffhanger ending pretty good book A couple mistakes here and there but pretty good I like this author His books grab me and make me want to read them.Despite a strong include the following The writer kept mixing up character names including 2 of the victims and the locations their bodies were found.Some of the dialogue was stilted Clues seemed to be either thrust at the FBI agents from an overly talkative shopkeeper ex machina or were glaringly obvious but made out by the writer to be a stroke of genius on the part of the FBI agent who spott I tried hard to finish this book but it ultimately wasn t worth it for me.The numerous things that annoyed me about it include the following The writer kept mixing up character names including 2 of the victims and the locations their bodies were found.Some of the dialogue was stilted Clues seemed to be either thrust at the FBI agents from an overly talkative shopkeeper ex machina or were glaringly obvious but made out by the writer to be a stroke of genius on the part of the FBI agent who spotted it.With no evidence to suggest this, the FBI agents immediately assume the killer is a lone male and in doing so, no females are suspected at all.The female protagonist, Riley Paige, always turned into a psychic when the author didn t want to provide actual clues and spoil the outcome for the reader Riley Paige would come up with the most detailed descriptions and histories of people she d never met, fro...The basic premise was good but the main character was terrible TheI thought about it, the angrier it made me No one, FBI agent or not, would get away with acting like that First, there is no way Riley would be allowed to return to work in that condition Then, she thinks how wonderful she is at understanding evil and everyone else, including the partner she adores, is so dumb And yet she s the one who gets herself caught by a serial killer, not once, but twice for not following protoc The basic premise was good but the main character was terrible TheI thought about it, the angrier it made me No one, FBI agent or not, would get away with acting like that First, there is no way Riley would be allowed to return to work in that condition Then, she thinks how wonderful she is at understanding evil and...Every once in a while you find yourself in a gloomy, cloudy kind of afternoon where you just have to sit back and say to yourself, How about a murder mystery Or is that just me Either way, this book certainly filled that morbid little hole in my heart It clocks in at just a hair over 200 pages and flows at a nice brisk canter the whole way through perfect to finish in one sitting with a blanket and a cup of tea I love when a plot s wrapped up nice and tight, and this
