unfocused mess of a book.World The art is not good, there is not difference between the team of characters and the action is not framed in a way to be easy to follow, it s messy, choppy and sometimes a mystery of what s going on The faces of the characters are lost in the armor that constantly changes without reason and is a plot fixing suit that annoys The world building here is also a mes...You of both of those feelings. This is a clunky clich fest that doesn t make much sense For a comic book that features a weird mash up of science and magic, that s saying something These new characters are paper thin stock stereotypes, and the two women are drawn so similarly it s hard to tell them apart. There s some sort of computer program called the dark frequency that controls I m a big fan of the this book is It s cluttered, clunky, and clich d in a way that, rather than feeding on nostalgia for the previous Challengers books, just throws ideas at you haphazardly and resembles a tie in for a pressures from the publisher First, reintroduce the Challengers of the Unknown concept Second, introduce new characters that appeal to new readers Third, reveal new aspects of the Challengers Finally, make it fit into the overarching story event While New Challengers makes good on the first two goals, the third and fourth don t really stand out as having been done Most of Like most universe events
